Registered Nurse II – Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)

Schedule:

3‑12 hour shifts per week, including some weekends.

Sign‑on Bonus:
Up to $10,000 for external candidates with a minimum of 2 years of NICU experience, payable after a 2‑year service agreement.

Under general supervision, the Registered Nurse II provides individualized, goal‑directed patient care to families and patients at a competent level, utilizing the principles and practices of the nursing process. The RN II delivers safe and effective care and interacts with other members of the healthcare team to achieve desired results.

• Bachelor of Nursing degree preferred.
• RN staff hired on or after July 1, 2013 with an Associate or Diploma degree in nursing must enrol in an accredited BSN program within two years and successfully obtain a BSN within four years of the RN hire or reclassification date.
• One year of work experience as a registered nurse required.

• Licensure as a registered nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Providers or equivalent, or American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider).

• Ability to perform job functions while standing, sitting, walking, and climbing stairs.
• Ability to work indoors and occasionally outdoors at extreme temperatures.
• Ability to work from elevated or confined/cramped spaces, from kneeling positions, and to twist at the waist.
• Ability to maintain a firm grasp, perform fine manipulation, reach overhead, and perform repetitive motions with hands, wrists, elbows, and shoulders.
• Ability to lift and carry 50lb unassisted, and lift/lower 50lb from floor to 36in, and lift 25lb to overhead.
• Visual and auditory acuity must be maintained, with correction if necessary.
• Ability to handle stressful situations, rotating shifts, overtime, and a latex‑safe environment.
• For selected positions, additional requirements may include maintaining olfactory sensory function and being qualified physically for respirator use.
