American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Operating Room position at a Level I trauma, academic Magnet hospital requiring SC or compact RN license and prior OR experience.
Details- Main Operating Room within a Level I trauma, academic teaching, Magnet-designated hospital
- 21 OR suites covering all surgical specialties including Trauma, Transplant, Ortho, Neuro, ENT, GU-GYN, and Robotics
- Nursing team composed of 75% RNs and 25% Certified Surgical Technologists, with RNs trained to both scrub and circulate
- Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 6:30am-7:00pm
- One weekend shift (Saturday or Sunday, 6:30am-7pm) required every 4-week schedule period
- Up to 4 on-call shifts per month (end of shift-7am)
- Floating required within scope to like units or sister facilities as needed
- Uses EPIC charting system
- Active SC or Multi-State/Compact RN license required
- Current BLS certification (AHA) required
- Radiation badge required (provided by agency)
- 2 years of OR nursing experience strongly preferred
- Scrub experience strongly preferred
- Level I trauma center experience preferred
- EPIC EMR experience preferred
- Driver's license and SSN required for consideration
- Perform circulating and scrubbing duties across a wide range of surgical specialties
- Scrubs are provided by the facility
- Required to work at least one holiday period, either Christmas (Dec 24-26) or New Year's (Dec 31-Jan
1) - Block scheduling may be requested but requires manager approval based on unit needs
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Previous MUSC perm staff or PRN employees must be separated from the system for at least 1 year before returning as a travel RN
- Candidates must reside outside a 60-mile radius of the facility to be prioritized; local candidates may be considered on a case-by-case basis
- All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted at time of application for consideration
- During hurricane season (June-November), all staff may be assigned to emergency response teams
