Circulating RN – Cardiac Operating Room

Assignment Duration:
This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule:

Shift: 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM, with expectations to work every other weekend and holidays in rotation with hospital employees.

Job Description:

The Circulating RN will provide comprehensive nursing care in the Cardiac Operating Room, ensuring patient safety and facilitating surgical cases including complex thoracic and vascular procedures. Responsibilities will also extend to assisting with the setup and turnover of operating rooms. Strong cardiac experience is required.

Responsibilities:

• Circulate in various surgical specialties including Orthopedic, Neuro, Plastics, Vascular, and Trauma.
• Provide support in complex thoracic procedures, including AAA repairs, valve replacements, and CABG.
• Prepare and position patients for surgery, facilitating complex open and endovascular cases.
• Collaborate with surgical teams to ensure smooth operation and patient safety during procedures.
• Maintain thorough documentation within the Meditech system.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:

• 2+ years of nursing experience with a strong focus on cardiac care.
• Current BLS certification.
• Evidence of knowledge in general circulating practices including patient positioning and surgical preparation.
