Surgery Scheduling Supervisor

Job Overview

The Surgery Scheduling Supervisor is responsible for coordinating day‑to‑day logistics of the surgery scheduling team and overseeing the utilization of department‑assigned operating room blocks. The role includes assigning workloads, managing staff, developing initiatives to address OR utilization gaps, scheduling surgeries, and communicating with patients and physicians for a subset of surgeons in the department.

• High school degree or equivalent.
• Minimum of 8 years of related work experience.

• Mobility & posture: standing and walking continuously; sitting continuously.
• Climbing stairs: infrequent.

• Working in confined or cramped spaces: frequent.

• Firm grasping and fine manipulation: continuous; reaching overhead or in all directions: frequent.

• Full use of both legs: continuous; balance and coordination: frequent.
• Lifting & carrying 50 lbs. unassisted: infrequent; lifting lower 50 lbs. from floor to 36”: infrequent; lifting up to 25 lbs. overhead: infrequent; exerting up to 50 lbs. of force: frequent.
• Examples of force requirements: lifting 100 lb. non‑ambulatory patient (50 lbs. force), pushing 400 lb. patient in wheelchair on carpet (20 lbs. force), pushing patient stretcher one‑handed (25 lbs. force).
• Vision & sensory: maintain corrected vision 20/40; recognize objects, color discrimination, depth perception, peripheral vision, hearing acuity (with correction), and tactile function all continuous.
• Gross motor with fine motor coordination: continuous.
