American Traveler is seeking an OR RN for a night shift position in a Level I trauma, academic Magnet hospital, requiring SC or Compact RN license and scrub/circulate experience.
Details- Main Operating Room within a Level I academic trauma center with 21 OR suites
- Covers all surgical specialties including Trauma, Transplant, Ortho, Neuro, ENT, GU-GYN, and Robotics
- Nursing team consists of 75% RNs and 25% Certified Surgical Technologists
- RNs are trained to both scrub and circulate surgical procedures
- Night shift, 3x12 hours (6:30 PM - 7:00 AM)
- No on-call requirement
- Up to one working weekend shift per 4-week schedule period
- Required to work at least one holiday period (Christmas or New Year's)
- Floating required within scope to meet facility needs, including sister facilities
- Uses EPIC charting system
- Active SC or Multi-State/Compact RN license required
- BLS certification required (AHA only)
- Radiation badge required (provided by agency)
- 2 years of OR experience strongly preferred
- Scrub experience strongly preferred
- Level I trauma center experience preferred
- Driver's license required for consideration
- Social Security number required for consideration
- Level I Trauma Center, academic teaching facility, and Magnet-designated hospital
- Nurse-driven department providing cutting-edge surgical technology
- 820 total staffed beds
- Scrubs provided by facility
- First-time travelers may be considered
- Block scheduling may be requested but requires manager approval and is dependent on unit needs
- Previous MUSC perm staff (including PRN) must be separated from the system for 1 year before returning as a traveler
- Local candidates accepted on a case-by-case basis
- Candidates must reside outside a 60-mile radius to be prioritized for this position
- During hurricane season (June through November), all staff may be assigned to emergency response teams
