Certified Medical Assistant or Licensed Practical Nurse

The Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) seeks a Certified Medical Assistant or Licensed Practical Nurse to support patient care and education in our academic health setting. In this role, you'll provide direct clinical support to providers and learners, including patient intake, vital signs, EMR documentation, and assistance with exams, procedures, and medications within scope. You'll help coordinate scheduling, referrals, and follow-up, while maintaining high standards of safety and infection control.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care and clinical support to faculty and students in outpatient settings
• Prepare patients for exams, obtain vital signs, and document medical histories in the EMRAdminister medications and immunizations per provider orders and scope of practice
• Assist with minor procedures, specimen collection, and diagnostic tests
• Coordinate scheduling, referrals, and follow-up care for patients
• Maintain exam rooms, equipment, and supplies to infection-control standards
• Educate patients on treatments, medications, and preventive health practices
• Support teaching activities for learners within the academic clinical environment
• Follow all MUSC policies, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements
• Participate in quality improvement and professional development activities
