The Medical University of South Carolina seeks a CMA or LPN for its Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation clinic. This role supports providers by delivering hands-on outpatient care, obtaining vitals and histories, administering medications and treatments within scope, and assisting with rehab-focused procedures. The CMA/LPN will manage patient flow, documentation, and patient education while collaborating with an interdisciplinary team. Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care under supervision of physicians and advanced practice providers in physical medicine and rehabilitation clinics
  • Prepare patients for exams, obtain vitals, histories, and reconcile medications
  • Administer treatments, injections, and medications per protocol and scope of practice
  • Perform basic clinical procedures and assist with rehabilitative therapies as directed
  • Coordinate patient flow, schedule appointments, and manage clinical documentation in the EHRSupport patient education on treatment plans, medications, and home exercises
  • Ensure exam rooms, equipment, and supplies are maintained and compliant with infection-control standards
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary rehab team to support integrated care and discharge planning
  • Participate in quality improvement, safety initiatives, and data collection for education/research
  • Uphold MUSC's standards for compassion, diversity, and academic excellence in patient care
