DescriptionAmerican Traveler is hiring a Pediatric Critical Care Float Pool RN requiring 2 years of Peds ICU experience and an active SC or compact RN license.
Details- Float pool position covering Pediatric Critical Care units including CVPICU, NICU, and PICU
- Day shift schedule of 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM, 36 hours per week
- Patient ratios of 1:2 or 1:3
- Requires working every other weekend and holiday rotation
- Facility may call off up to 1 shift per 2-week period
- Block scheduling may be requested but requires manager approval based on unit needs
- Active South Carolina or Multi-State/Compact RN license required
- BLS and PALS certifications required (American Heart Association only)
- Minimum 2 years of Pediatric ICU experience required
- ECMO and CRRT experience preferred
- Epic EMR experience required
- Skilled in emergency medications, anti-seizure medications, continuous sedation, and IV vasopressors
- Proficient in pediatric dosage calculations
- Experience with BiPAP/CPAP management and care of ventilated patients
- Skilled in acute airway care/maintenance and ABG interpretation
- Experience managing chest tubes, central lines, and PICC lines
- ICP monitoring experience
- Knowledge of dysrhythmia interpretation and management
- Experience with isolation precautions and infection control/PPE protocols
- Social Security number and driver's license required for consideration
- Provide critical care nursing to pediatric patients across multiple ICU units as part of a float pool team
- Float assignments will remain within scope of pediatric critical care specialty
- First-time travelers with the required Peds ICU experience will be considered
- Candidates who were previously permanent or PRN staff at this health system must have been separated for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
- All requested time off must be submitted at the time of consideration
- Local candidates within a 60-mile radius are accepted, though non-local candidates are prioritized
- Travelers should be aware that during hurricane season (June through November, with peak activity in August and September), all staff may be assigned to emergency response teams
