American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Telemetry unit on night shift, requiring prior travel nursing experience and NIH Stroke Scale certification.
Details- 3rd Floor Telemetry unit, 29-bed capacity
- Patient ratio of 1:6, caring for telemetry and post-cardiac procedure patients including PCI, PPM, ICD, and Ablations
- Night shift schedule (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM), 3x12-hour shifts per week including every other weekend
- Equipment used includes i-mobile phones, mobile computer workstations, mobilab lab drawers, and Alaris IV pumps
- Documentation via Meditech
- Floating required, with travelers floated first to the Emergency Department for inpatient holds, telemetry monitoring room, or PCU
- Holiday coverage required in rotation with hospital employees
- Active SC or compact RN license required
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale
- Minimum 30 months of RN or LPN nursing experience
- At least 1 previous successful travel nursing assignment required
- Proficient in reading telemetry strips and managing cardiac drips (Cardizem, Amio, Nitro, Dobutamine)
- Skilled in phlebotomy, administering respiratory treatments (inhalers/nebulizers), and Foley catheter care with nurse-driven removal protocols
- US SSN and DOB required for consideration (no Canadian SSN accepted)
- No employment gaps of 90+ days or more within the past 12 months
- Responsible for developing and updating plans of care each shift, collaborating with physicians and ancillary departments
- Handles discharge planning and patient education for telemetry and post-cath lab patients
- Utilizes bedside shift report, AIDET, and RN/MD rounding for patient experience standards
- Navy uniform required
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; no local candidates accepted
