Description

American Traveler is hiring a Pediatric Critical Care Float Pool RN with 2+ years of Peds ICU experience and SC or Compact RN licensure required.

Details
  • Pediatric Critical Care Float Pool position at a children's hospital
  • Floats within scope to all pediatric units including CVPICU, NICU, and PICU
  • Day shift schedule of 3x12 hours, 7:00am-7:30pm, 36 hours/week
  • Patient ratios of 1:2 or 1:3
  • Every other weekend required with holiday rotation
  • Uses Epic EMR system
Requirements
  • Active SC or Multi-State/Compact RN license required
  • BLS and PALS certifications required (AHA only accepted)
  • Minimum 2 years of Pediatric ICU experience required
  • ECMO and CRRT experience preferred
  • Skilled in medication administration including anti-seizure meds, continuous sedation, and IV vasopressors
  • Pediatric dosage calculation skills required
  • Respiratory skills including BiPAP/CPAP management, ventilated patient care, acute airway care/maintenance, and ABG interpretation required
  • Experience managing chest tubes, central/implanted lines, and PICC lines required
  • ICP monitoring experience required
  • Skilled in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
  • Infection control/PPE and isolation precautions knowledge required
  • SSN and driver's license required for consideration
Additional Information
  • Provide critical care nursing support across multiple pediatric units based on facility needs
  • Block scheduling may be requested but is not guaranteed and requires manager approval
  • Must reside within 60 miles to be considered a local candidate; non-local candidates are prioritized
  • Local candidates considered on a case-by-case basis
  • Previous perm or PRN staff must be separated from the health system for 1 year before returning as a traveler
  • All requested time off must be submitted at time of consideration for approval based on unit needs
  • First-time travelers accepted if they meet the required experience
  • Employees and contractors may be assigned to emergency response duties during hurricane season (June through November, with peak activity in August and September)
