Job Title:
Quality Control Engineer (Electrical)
The QA/QC Engineer (Electrical) ensures that all civil and electrical construction activities comply with project specifications, engineering standards, and applicable codes. This onsite role oversees inspection processes, prepares and maintains quality documentation, verifies construction workmanship, and collaborates closely with contractors and project teams to uphold project-specific quality plans and international standards such as ASTM, ACI, ISO 9001, and other QA/QC requirements.
The position plays a key role in delivering a fully compliant project within a large-scale expansion program, including flightline scope work.
- Maintain and execute the project-specific QA/QC Plan, including detailed scopes of work and work procedures for civil and electrical construction activities.
- Develop and implement engineering procedures covering document control, submittal management, creation and tracking of Requests for Information (RFIs), material sample reviews, and documentation and tracking of potential cost changes and approved change orders within budgetary guidelines.
- Coordinate the implementation of the project-specific QA/QC Plan with the project safety plan to ensure integrated quality and safety practices on site.
- Ensure strict adherence to ethics and compliance requirements at all times throughout project execution.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with owners, architects, consultants, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure the QA/QC Plan delivers a fully compliant project.
- Interpret and understand the project execution plan and schedule, and coordinate Quality Control procedures at appropriate stages of the work to align with project milestones.
- Continually improve strategies, tools, and processes to efficiently and effectively document, track, and record compliance with contract documents and quality requirements.
- Execute the project-specific QA/QC Plan in a way that actively engages all project staff, subcontractors, vendors, and consultants in quality objectives and practices.
- Conduct field testing and inspections for electrical and civil works, arrange for third‑party testing and inspections as needed, and analyze and report test results in a clear and timely manner.
- Expand and refine the QA/QC Plan as the project progresses, continually improving procedures and controls to address evolving project needs.
- Oversee the development, accuracy, and completeness of Daily Construction Reports (DCRs) to ensure proper documentation of site activities and quality status.
- Oversee the creation and maintenance of punch lists, ensuring that all outstanding items are clearly documented, tracked, and resolved.
- Direct the removal and replacement of non‑compliant materials and workmanship, ensuring all corrective actions are properly documented and verified.
- Document compliance after corrective work is completed and confirm that all quality issues are resolved prior to the start of any subsequent work activities.
- Research, recommend, and apply additional Quality Control and Lean procedures to enhance the efficiency and quality of project delivery.
- Oversee project close‑out activities and prepare comprehensive quality reports that summarize testing, inspections, non‑conformances, and corrective actions.
- Perform other related duties as assigned to support successful project delivery and continuous improvement of quality processes.
- Minimum 5 years of QA/QC construction quality experience, preferably with a general contractor.
- At least 3 years of electrical QA/QC or QA/QCM experience on construction projects.
- Hands‑on experience in a construction environment, including coordination with multiple trades and stakeholders.
- Proficiency in electrical quality control, including review and verification of electrical installations and systems.
- Ability to read, interpret, and work with electrical schematics and drawings.
- Experience applying and enforcing electrical codes and standards, including those relevant to FAA‑regulated environments.
