QA Specialist - Analyst/Manager, Quality Engineering
My Client, a global company providing inspection, certification, and risk management services, is looking for Cable Fabrication Inspectors for their Charleston SC facility. This is a long term contract expected to be 3 years in total and will be a W2 Contract. You will be providing independent inspection and quality assurance services for cable manufacturing activities, a proven background in this is essential to carry out the contract.
You must be based within a 1 hour commute of Charleston SC, sponsorship is not offered for this position
Essential experience required:Extensive experience in manufacturing quality inspection and quality assurance
Experience working within industrial manufacturing environments
Strong knowledge of inspection and testing processes
Experience with FATs, quality documentation, non-conformance management, and corrective actions
Ability to work independently and provide structured reporting to stakeholders
Duties and Responsibilities:Responsible for providing full-time quality surveillance at cable manufacturing facilities for onshore and submarine export cables, ensuring continuous production monitoring on a 7-day/week basis with 12-hour shifts on a rotational schedule.
Review and acceptance of cable manufacturing, quality, and repair procedures
Planning and coordination of inspection activities
Participation in manufacturing kick-off meetings
Monitoring manufacturing progress and quality performance
Preparation of weekly written reports
Participation in weekly progress meetings
Witnessing and verification of:- Sample Tests
- Routine Tests
- Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT)
- Load-out operations
Audits, pre-production meetings, NCR management, issue resolution, and review/acceptance of MRBs.
Final inspection support
Rapid response to production incidents or quality deviations, non-conformance follow-up and verification of corrective actions
Quality support during onshore installation and civil works, including cable installation, testing, haul road construction, reinstatement activities, and landfall works.
Site inspections, surveillance of HDD duct manufacturing in accordance with ITPs and agreed inspection strategies, and management and resolution of NCRs throughout the project lifecycle.
