Quality Control Technician
The Quality Control Technician tests materials before, during, and after production to ensure products meet established specifications and quality standards. This role involves inspecting, measuring, and evaluating product quality in a safe and efficient manner, accurately recording data in internal systems, and communicating issues to leadership. The technician supports production operations by maintaining a clean, organized lab and handling product samples for archiving or customer review.
Responsibilities- Test materials and products before, during, and after production to verify they meet established specifications and quality standards.
- Inspect, measure, and evaluate product quality using appropriate tools, equipment, and procedures.
- Record measurements, inspection results, and test data accurately in internal systems and databases.
- Identify product defects, nonconformances, and trends, and communicate issues to leadership in a timely and clear manner.
- Label, package, and store product samples for archive or customer review according to internal procedures.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe lab and work area in alignment with safety and housekeeping standards.
- Follow detailed quality control procedures, work instructions, and documentation requirements consistently.
- Support production operations by coordinating with production and leadership teams to resolve quality concerns.
- Manage time effectively to prioritize multiple testing tasks in a fast-paced production environment.
- Escalate issues appropriately when product quality, safety, or process concerns are identified.
- Adhere to quality standards and inspection processes throughout the full production testing lifecycle.
- Strong attention to detail when inspecting and measuring product quality.
- Ability to manage time and prioritize tasks in a production environment.
- Basic math skills, including unit conversions, for accurate measurements and data tracking.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills for documenting results and reporting issues.
- Ability to follow detailed procedures, work instructions, and documentation requirements.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to escalate issues appropriately.
- Familiarity with quality standards and inspection processes.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.
- Comfort working in a physically active role that involves standing, walking, bending, climbing, squatting, and lifting up to 75 lbs.
Skills & Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 1+ year of quality control or lab testing experience preferred.
- Experience in a manufacturing, production, or lab environment is beneficial.
- Experience using internal systems or databases for data entry and tracking measurements.
- Ability to work collaboratively with production and leadership teams.

WorkEnvironment
This is a full-time, Monday through Friday, first-shift position in a manufacturing and lab environment that directly supports production operations. The setting may include non-climate-controlled conditions and requires consistent use of personal protective equipment with a strong emphasis on safety standards. The role is physically active, involving regular standing, walking, bending, climbing, squatting, and lifting up to 75 lbs, as well as operating equipment as needed to perform inspections and tests.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Charleston, SC.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $22.00 - $24.00/hr.
