we are seeking an experienced quality assurance (qa) analyst/technician to support the development, production, integration, and delivery of mission-critical it and communications systems for u.s. Navy programs. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience implementing and managing quality processes within a dod manufacturing or systems integration environment and be proficient with cmpro configuration management software.
this role will be responsible for establishing and continuously improving qa processes across the entire system lifecycle, from material receipt and production through integration, testing, and final delivery. The successful candidate will partner closely with engineering, production, configuration management, supply chain, and program management to ensure compliance with contractual, regulatory, and internal quality standards.
key responsibilities
- developing, implementing, and maintaining a comprehensive quality management system (qms) supporting defense electronics, it infrastructure, and communications system integration
- establishing quality gates, inspection points, and process controls throughout manufacturing, assembly, integration, and system acceptance
- utilizing cmpro to ensure proper configuration management, documentation control, change tracking, and product baseline integrity
- creating and maintaining inspection plans, quality procedures, work instructions, and acceptance criteria
- conducting in-process inspections, audits, and final acceptance reviews to verify compliance with engineering drawings, technical data packages, and customer requirements
- leading root cause analysis and corrective and preventive action (capa) activities for quality issues
- monitoring quality metrics and identifying opportunities for process improvement and operational efficiency
- supporting first article inspections (fai), factory acceptance testing (fat), site acceptance testing (sat), and customer witness events as required
- verifying configuration accuracy between hardware, software, documentation, and released baselines
- collaborating with engineering and program management to ensure quality requirements are incorporated early in the product lifecycle
- supporting internal and external audits, including customer and government quality reviews
- ensuring compliance with applicable dod, navy, iso 9001, and contractual quality requirements
- mentoring production personnel on quality standards, inspection techniques, and continuous improvement initiatives
requirements
- seven or more years of quality assurance experience supporting dod, aerospace, defense, electronics manufacturing, or systems integration programs
- demonstrated experience using cmpro for configuration management and documentation control
- experience establishing or maturing qa processes within a production or systems integration environment
- strong understanding of configuration management principles and product lifecycle management
- experience with hardware integration, networking equipment, communications systems, or it infrastructure
- ability to interpret engineering drawings, schematics, bills of materials (boms), and technical documentation
- experience conducting internal audits, inspections, and corrective action investigations
- familiarity with quality methodologies such as capa, lean, six sigma, or continuous improvement initiatives
- strong documentation, analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, cross-functional engineering and production environment
- experience supporting u.s. Navy or other department of defense programs.
- knowledge of military standards and quality requirements (mil-stds, navsea, or similar)
- experience with iso 9001 or as9100 quality management systems
- certified quality engineer (cqe), certified quality auditor (cqa), lean six sigma green belt/black belt, or equivalent certification
- experience with systems integration laboratories, network infrastructure, tactical communications, or command-and-control systems
- active secret or top secret security clearance, or the ability to obtain and maintain one
- process-oriented leader with a passion for building scalable quality systems
- strong problem-solving and root cause analysis skills
- ability to influence cross-functional teams and drive accountability
- detail-oriented with a commitment to delivering high-quality, mission-critical products
- continuous improvement mindset focused on reducing defects and improving production efficiency
src is a contractor for the u.s. Government, this position will require u.s. Citizenship and eligibility for a u.s. Government security clearance at the secret level
