Job Description

The Department of Biochemistry & Molecular Biology invites applications for tenure‑track faculty positions at the Assistant and Associate Professor levels. Candidates should have research expertise in molecular and cellular mechanisms of human health and disease, demonstrate the potential to secure extramural funding, and collaborate effectively within the Department and College of Medicine.

• Applicants must hold a Ph.D. and/or M.D./Ph.D. degree(s).
• Application packet must include a CV, research statement, and cover letter.

• Independent conduct of research projects and efficient execution of complex experiments.
• Ability to design and perform research projects with minimal supervision.
• Demonstrated skills in cellular, molecular, and biochemical techniques.
• Capacity to evaluate experimental results, troubleshoot problems, and analyze data.
• Experience in writing manuscripts for publication.
• Maintaining an up‑to‑date, organized, and legible lab notebook.
• Training new postdoctoral fellows, technicians, and graduate students.

• Ability to perform job functions in an upright, seated, and mobile position as required.
• Ability to work indoors continuously and outdoors intermittently; to walk, kneel, and squat as needed.
• Ability to use both hands/arms, perform repetitive motions with hands, wrists, elbows, and shoulders, and reach in all directions.
• Good finger dexterity, peripheral vision, hearing acuity, and vision of 20/40 corrected.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 15 lbs. unassisted, and move objects up to 15 lbs. from floor to 36 inches.
