Post-Doctoral Candidate - Department of BMIC/PHS
The post-doc will be working with the Biomedical Informatics research team on AI applications in the field of biomedicine including large language models, explainability, ethics, trust, and other research areas. The position is based at MUSC in the Division of Biomedical Informatics in the Department of Public Health Sciences. The post-doc will contribute to shaping scientific objectives, research projects planning, execution, and analysis related to AI projects in biomedicine.
This includes collaboration with faculty members at MUSC and across the state. The post-doc will participate in the design and execution of research projects, and the preparation of scientific presentations and manuscripts.
Job duties include conducting and assisting with research on topics relevant to artificial intelligence (AI), performing statistical analyses, contributing to scientific publications and conferences, consulting with co-investigators on appropriate design and development, and supervising and training staff, graduate assistants, or student employees.
Preferred knowledge, skills, and abilities include a doctoral degree in computer science, data science, biomedical informatics, medicine, or other related areas, solid data science skills, willingness to coordinate and supervise part of the research activity within BMIC, ability to work in a collaborative environment, and excellent oral and written communication skills.
