Job Description Summary
The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine invites applications for an immediate opening at the Research Assistant Professor level in the Division of Research. The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine invites applications for an immediate opening at the Research Assistant Professor level in the Division of Research. The successful candidate will work closely with senior faculty to develop an independent research program focused on neurovascular dysfunction in sepsis, Alzheimer's disease, vascular cognitive impairment, and related neurodegenerative disorders. Responsibilities will also include preparing manuscripts, developing grant applications, and contributing to collaborative research initiatives.
Applicants must hold a Ph.D. (or equivalent doctoral degree) and demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills, along with a record of academic achievement in research related to sepsis, Alzheimer's disease, vascular cognitive impairment, or neurovascular biology. Expertise in pericyte biology and function in these disease contexts is highly desirable.
Preference Will Be Given To Candidates With- A strong record of grant writing for extramural funding.
- Expertise in two-photon microscopy and other advanced imaging techniques.
- Experience using animal models to investigate pericyte function and neurovascular mechanisms in sepsis, Alzheimer's disease, and vascular cognitive impairment.
Salary and academic rank will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
