Role Description
The Showroom Associate (Seasonal) is a part-time, on‑site role based in Charleston, SC, that will be filled for the 2026 Holiday Season (October - January). This team member greets visitors, provides product knowledge, and offers personalized guidance on cookware selection and care. Daily responsibilities include maintaining a welcoming and organized showroom, restocking merchandise, processing sales and returns, and handling point‑of‑sale transactions accurately.
The role also supports in‑store events or demonstrations, answers customer questions in person and helps with merchandising displays and visual presentation. The Showroom Associate collaborates with colleagues across sales and operations to ensure guests receive friendly, informed service that reflects Smithey’s brand standards.
This is a part‑time, on‑site role of about 30 hours per week,generally 12:00to 5:00, Monday through Saturday.
What We're Looking For
- A warm, outgoing personality and genuine enjoyment of talking with people in‑person
- Retail, hospitality, or in‑person customer service experience, ideally in a premium or boutique setting
- Interest in cooking, cast iron, or craftsmanship, or eagerness to learn
- Reliable and punctual, and comfortable working Saturdays
- Comfortable using an iPad point‑of‑sale system (Shopify)
- Able to be on your feet and handle cookware throughout a shift
Qualifications
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills, with the ability to create a welcoming, inclusive showroom experience.
- Sales and point‑of‑sale skills, including handling transactions, returns, and customer service inquiries
- Clear verbal communication skills for engaging with customers, answering questions, and sharing product information
- Organizational and time‑management skills to maintain showroom cleanliness, inventory presentation, and daily task completion
- Ability to stand for extended periods, lift and move products safely, and perform routine showroom upkeep.
- Prior retail, hospitality, or customer‑facing experience is preferred
