Step into a pivotal role with a growing environmental consultant where your field expertise and analytical skills directly support responsible land use and regulatory compliance.

About the Role

This role focuses on planning and executing environmental field investigations, then translating your findings into clear, defensible technical reports. You will support Phase I Environmental Site Assessments, soil and environmental media sampling, and compliance‑driven studies for a variety of commercial, industrial, and public sector clients. Your work will inform critical decisions on site development, remediation, and regulatory strategy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct field sampling and survey activities, including soil, groundwater, and surface observations, in accordance with project plans and standard operating procedures.
  • Perform Phase I Environmental Site Assessments, including records review, site reconnaissance, and documentation of environmental conditions.
  • Collect, organize, and validate environmental data from multiple sources, ensuring accuracy and completeness for analysis and reporting.
  • Coordinate and oversee soil sampling and analysis programs, including chain‑of‑custody documentation and interaction with analytical laboratories.
  • Prepare clear, concise technical reports, including findings, interpretations, figures, and appendices that meet client and regulatory expectations.
  • Support environmental compliance evaluations by comparing site conditions against applicable regulations and guidelines.
  • Apply statistical methods to interpret environmental datasets and support conclusions and recommendations.
  • Collaborate with project managers and multidisciplinary teams to plan fieldwork, meet deadlines, and address technical issues as they arise.
Key Requirements
  • Proven experience in environmental field sampling and survey techniques within consulting, regulatory, or related settings.
  • Demonstrated competency in conducting Phase I Environmental Site Assessments in accordance with ASTM or equivalent standards.
  • Hands‑on experience with soil sampling, handling, and interpretation of laboratory analytical results.
  • Strong ability to produce structured technical documentation and detailed environmental reports.
  • Working knowledge of federal and state environmental regulations and how they apply to site assessment and compliance.
  • Proficiency in data collection, management, and basic statistical analysis using spreadsheets or relevant software tools.
  • Comfortable working outdoors in varying conditions and performing physically demanding field tasks as needed.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple assignments concurrently.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Geology, Environmental Engineering, or a closely related field.
  • Advanced degree (Master’s) in a relevant discipline preferred but not required.
  • Professional certifications such as EIT, GIT, or related environmental credentials considered an asset.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record suitable for regular field travel.
