Charleston, SC – Mini-Excavator Operator, Natural Gas Distribution – Southeast Connections (SEC).

This role requires skilled workers capable of performing construction and maintenance work related to gas distribution, underground utilities, and gas service lines. Workers will use equipment such as backhoe, excavator, vibratory or static plows, trenchers or directional bore machines to install, remove, or maintain underground utilities and pipe installations.

• Skilled worker possessing the required knowledge, skill, and physical ability to perform construction and maintenance duties related to the natural gas industry.
• Ability to perform essential physical functions in a timely manner.
• Communicate effectively with customers and the public.
• Work well with others.
• Follow all safety policies and procedures per SEC standards and the utility customer.
• Load material or equipment for transport from the show‑up yard to the job site and secure as appropriate.
• Place, remove or maintain underground utilities as directed, including carrying pipe, bags of material and other heavy items, jack hammering, shoveling, tamping, and installing pipe, duct or cable.
• Secure work site, equipment, and materials at the end of each shift to ensure public safety and equipment safety.

• High school diploma or GED (Preferred).
• Minimum 3 years of prior operating experience.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record; ability to obtain a CDL.
• Gas construction experience.
• Strong work ethic and willingness to work in a team environment.
