Industrial Maintenance Mechanic
Charleston, SC| $32.40/hour or more depending on experience Schedule: 100% Onsite

About the Opportunity

We’re partnering with a growing industrial manufacturing company looking for an experienced Industrial Maintenance Mechanic to support heavy steel processing equipment in a fast-paced production environment.

This is a strong fit for someone who enjoys hands‑on troubleshooting, takes ownership of equipment reliability, and has experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, conveyors, gearboxes, pumps, bearings, welding, and fabrication
.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain industrial production equipment.
  • Work on conveyors, gearboxes, pumps, bearings, chains, sprockets, couplings, shafts, and power transmission systems
    .
  • Diagnose and repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems
    .
  • Perform preventive maintenance to reduce downtime and improve equipment reliability.
  • Complete welding, cutting, fabrication, and minor machining as needed.
  • Read mechanical drawings, schematics, OEM manuals, and equipment diagrams.
  • Partner with electrical technicians, operators, and production teams on repairs and upgrades.
  • Document maintenance work, daily reports, and parts needs.
What They’re Looking For
  • 5+ years of industrial mechanical maintenance experience preferred.
  • Experience in steel processing, stamping, heavy manufacturing, or industrial production preferred.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with mechanical systems, rotating equipment, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
  • Experience with conveyors, gearboxes, pumps, bearings, and power transmission equipment
    .
  • Welding and fabrication experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of OSHA and Lockout/Tagout procedures
    .
  • Comfortable using a computer for reports, email, and parts research.
