Epworth Children’s Home is seeking a Intake Coordinator to join our Charleston team.
JOB SUMMARY:
The Foster Care Intake Coordinator will be responsible for all growth
activities of the foster care program; including conducting foster home investigations utilizing the regulations established by the Department of Social Services and overseeing placement activities of foster children into the licensed foster homes. The Foster Care Intake Coordinator will do the following: screen, log and refer prospective foster family calls, facilitate orientations and interviews with prospective families, process foster family applications, conduct licensing study for foster home applicants, notify applicants in writing if licensure is denied or revoked, and facilitate training events and volunteers as requested.
The Intake Coordinator will service as the primary liaison with SC DSS related to requests for placements in the program. The Intake Coordinator will also maintain all necessary documentation and files to fidelity.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Masterâs degree in a Human Service field or a Bachelorâs degree and one
(1) year experience in working with clients in foster care or an Associateâs Degree and two (2) years of experience in residential child group or foster care or four (4) years of experience at Epworth. A minimum of 4 years experience working with children and families preferred.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
Applicant must have knowledge of or willingness to learn skills in
counseling, case management and social work. Must possess excellent communication skills in written and verbal form. Proficiency with various software programs. Knowledge of or willingness to learn skills in counseling, case management and social work. Must be able to pass standard background checks, including: drug screen, employment physical, SLED, FBI, DSS Central Registry and Sex Offenders Registry.
