Position Summary

The Clinical Intake & Case Coordinator (Bilingual Spanish/English) coordinates the intake process and provides direct coordination and support services for Spanish-speaking children and families to ensure a timely, trauma-informed, and culturally sensitive response during their initial engagement with Dee Norton Child Advocacy Center. This role serves as a key point of contact during intake, supporting a coordinated referral process and helping ensure families are connected appropriately to forensic interviews, forensic medical examinations, trauma-focused mental health services, caregiver support, and other community resources.

This position serves as a liaison to the Hispanic community, providing psychoeducation and outreach to reduce barriers to access and strengthen engagement in coordinated community response services for Spanish-speaking children and families. The coordinator is also skilled in interpretation for forensic interviews and forensic medical examinations and provides Spanish/English interpreting support across the continuum of service delivery. This position works collaboratively with Dee Norton Staff and community partners to support coordinated service delivery and family engagement.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities Intake Coordination
  • Receive, triage, and process referrals for Dee Norton services including forensic interviews, forensic medical examinations, trauma-focused mental health assessments and treatment, caregiver consultation, and other services.
  • Assess child safety by formulating an initial impression of the family's ability to support and protect the child, identifying risks, notifying appropriate agencies, and taking necessary action to ensure child safety.
  • Coordinate scheduling of appropriate services, ensuring timely access and appropriate accommodations for children, caregivers, multidisciplinary partners, and interpreters as needed.
  • Assist multidisciplinary partners in determining emergency and non-emergency referrals.
  • Initiate client records and ensure all required intake documentation, consent forms, insurance information, releases of information, and clinical records are accurately completed and maintained.
  • Provide initial client orientation and ensure families understand Dee Norton services, expectations, and available resources.
  • Foster and maintain collaborative relationships with Social Services, law enforcement, medical providers, schools, behavioral health providers, and community agencies.
Case Coordination
  • Build relationships with caregivers, providing trauma-informed advocacy during referral and intake.
  • Coordinate service delivery across forensic, clinical, medical, advocacy, and community-based services.
  • Identify, coordinate, and disseminate community resources and referrals that support client and family needs.
  • With appropriate releases, request, obtain, and share information with community providers to support coordinated care.
  • Participate in internal case reviews, intake triage meetings, case management staffing, and multidisciplinary team meetings to promote effective service coordination.
Clinical Documentation and Program Support
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of referrals, client contacts, case management activities, service coordination, and follow-up in agency databases.
  • Collect and maintain data necessary for case tracking, grant reporting, program evaluation, and quality improvement activities.
  • Work with Clinical Leadership to continuously improve intake protocols, client engagement processes, and service delivery systems.
Community Collaboration and Outreach
  • Serve as a liaison and primary point of contact for the Hispanic/Latino community.
  • Provide referral information and consultation to community partners regarding Dee Norton services.
  • Participate in public education, outreach activities, and community engagement initiatives to increase awareness of child advocacy services.
  • Organize and facilitate Hispanic community outreach, education, and engagement efforts.
