Export Specialist

Responsibilities

• Prepare and present Letter of Credit Documents
• Dispatch export loads and cargo pick-ups; confirm cargo delivered to carrier
• Track export shipments and advise customer of potential schedule changes
• Prepare export documents, file AES and Bill of Lading Instructions prior to vessel cut-offs
• Ensure timely distribution of transport documents and billing of freight
• Negotiate rates with carriers and provide quotes to customers
• Problem solve with the Export Manager when situations arise that can or do negatively affect our clients and their customers
• Communicate with all parties in a transaction in a clear, concise, professional manner
• Above all, provide outstanding, uncompromising customer service

• Review export documents for accuracy
• Knowledge of US Customs Regulations regarding US Exports
• Country Requirements competence
• Letter of Credit knowledge and experience preferred
• Good transportation background, including FCL, LCL, rating, routing, documentation
• Ability to work in a fast paced, demanding environment
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Export experience minimum 2+ years
• High school diploma; 2 or 4 year college degree beneficial
