About the Position
This position is Non‑appropriated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to the Youth Center at JOINT BASE CHARLESTON SC.
The position may require the incumbent to transport children in a government vehicle; a driver’s license must be obtained and maintained. Physical effort is required; the incumbent must be able to lift and move objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
Duties- Vehicle Operator: Performs pre- and post‑operation inspection of assigned vehicles, adjusts fluid and pressure levels as necessary, and provides driving services as scheduled. (40%)
- Facility and Grounds Maintenance: Performs maintenance, minor repairs, and adjustments to the inside and outside of the building, such as replacing light bulbs, replacing safety switches, general daily cleaning, cleaning air conditioner ducts, setting up and taking down equipment, etc. (30%)
- Storeroom Monitor: Maintains a storeroom in accordance with IA W accepted stockroom procedures; issues and receives equipment and supplies as required; inventories assets on a continuing basis; maintains an adequate number of supplies on hand, such as light bulbs and safety switches. (15%)
- Equipment Coordination: Obtains equipment needed for special functions and assists in setup and takedown. (10%)
- Performs other related duties as assigned. (5%)
Works primarily under the direction and supervision of the School Age Program Coordinator, who controls the assignment of work, provides assistance as required, reviews completed work, and evaluates performance. Assists Youth Center Director as needed.
Requirements- This position requires the incumbent to complete a background investigation with favorable results.
- This position has been identified as a Test Designated Position (TDP). The incumbent must consent to a pre‑employment and random drug test.
- This position has a physical lifting requirement; the incumbent must complete a favorable pre‑employment physical.
- Must provide a copy of a safe driving record.
- Current Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) certifying ability to drive a bus (up to 44 passengers) is required.
- A real r’s license is required for employment and entry into JB Charleston AFB. A dependent Common Access Card (CAC) can be used with a current driver’s license.
