Local Route Driver

Position: LOCAL ROUTE DRIVER
Position Summary Meats By Linz, Inc. is seeking a dependable and customer-focused Local Route Driver to join our Logistics team in the Charleston, SC area.

The Local Route Driver is responsible for safely and efficiently delivering high-quality meat and protein products to Meats By Linz customers throughout the Charleston area and surrounding communities. This is a physical, fast-paced position requiring excellent driving skills, customer service, communication, and attention to detail.

Drivers represent Meats By Linz directly with our customers and are expected to provide professional, courteous, and reliable service at every delivery.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Safely operate a company delivery vehicle while following assigned routes and schedules.

Deliver meat and protein products accurately and on time to restaurants, hotels, country clubs, and other customers.

Load, unload, carry, and stock products at customer locations.

Handle products carefully to prevent damage and maintain product quality.

Verify orders and delivery quantities before completing deliveries.

Obtain delivery confirmations and communicate any discrepancies or customer concerns to management.

Maintain clear and consistent communication with the Logistics team throughout the workday.

Provide exceptional customer service and maintain positive relationships with customers.

Follow all applicable federal, state, and local traffic laws and DOT regulations.

Follow all Meats By Linz transportation, food safety, and company policies.

Complete required vehicle inspections and report maintenance or safety concerns promptly.

Maintain the cleanliness and general condition of the assigned vehicle.

Use company route and delivery technology as required.

Report accidents, delays, delivery issues, damaged products, or other incidents immediately.

Assist with other Logistics or warehouse duties as needed.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Valid driver's license appropriate for the vehicle being operated; CDL requirements will depend on the assigned vehicle.

Clean and safe driving record.

Ability to obtain and maintain a valid DOT Medical Card, if required for the position.

Must be eligible to work in the United States.

Ability to pass required pre-employment testing.

Previous delivery, route driving, commercial driving, or customer service experience preferred.

Familiarity with the Charleston, SC area and surrounding communities preferred.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.

Reliable, punctual, and dependable.

Ability to work independently while maintaining communication with management and the Logistics team.

Ability to remain professional and courteous when interacting with customers.

Physical Requirements Ability to sit and drive for extended periods of time, potentially up to 10 hours during a workday.

Ability to frequently enter and exit the delivery vehicle.

Ability to lift, carry, lower, and stock products weighing approximately 50–75 lbs., with occasional products weighing up to 100 lbs.

Ability to perform repetitive lifting, bending, reaching, pushing, and pulling.

Ability to work in varying weather conditions and temperatures.

Ability to safely maneuver product and equipment at customer locations.
