Forklift Operator​/Load Builder

Contract Lumber seeks a reliable Forklift Operator/Load Builder to support our wholesale building materials yard. In this full-time role, you'll safely operate forklifts to load and unload trucks, stage and build accurate lumber and framing loads, and move materials throughout the yard. You'll read tickets and orders, inspect loads for accuracy and stability, and follow all safety and PPE standards. Working in a hands-on, team-focused environment, you'll coordinate with drivers and warehouse staff to meet tight delivery schedules and support our home builder and contractor customers.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklifts to safely load and unload trucks with lumber and building materials
• Build, stage, and secure accurate loads according to tickets and customer orders
• Move, stack, and organize materials throughout the yard and warehouse
• Inspect loads for accuracy, damage, and stability before transport
• Follow all safety, PPE, and equipment inspection procedures
• Collaborate with drivers, yard, and warehouse teams to meet delivery timelines
• Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work area
• Assist with basic inventory handling and material counts as needed
