The West Virginia Housing Development Fund (the “Fund”), a quasi-governmental organization providing safe, decent affordable housing across West Virginia, is seeking qualified candidates for the position of an Accounts Payable Clerk in our Charleston Office.
Job SummaryThis employee is responsible for the input, general ledger account coding, and maintenance of documents for all disbursements according to the policies of the West Virginia Housing Development Fund (the “Fund”). This employee will have access to sensitive and confidential data; therefore, confidentiality must be maintained at all times.
Essential Functions- Responsible for the input and general ledger account coding and distribution/mailing of all accounts payables, which includes verifying accuracy of request, proper backup, and appropriate approvals.
- Reviews expense reports for accuracy and proper documentation.
- Assists with preparation of 1099’s.
- Responsible for imaging, review and proper destruction of write‑up, accounts payable and other various documents for the agency.
- Serves as backup for various functions within the department including but not limited to the daily deposit, daily write‑up and functions related to write‑up.

Work Environment/Physical DemandsThe employee in this position may be required to sit at a desk for long periods of time. The position routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, etc.
Required Education/ExperienceHigh School Graduate with one to three years of accounts payable or related experience.
Preferred Education/ExperienceAssociate degree with accounting emphasis. Knowledge of Microsoft Office and accounting software.
