Overview
GREENBRIER COUNTY – 1 VACANCY. Under general supervision, at the full-performance level, relieves Community Service Manager of various clerical and minor administrative tasks. Work requires exercising discretion and use of independent judgement. Work includes transcribing meetings, use of word processing programs, screening correspondences as directed, routine filing, maintaining records, and other requirements needed by the Community Service Manager. Human Resource duties include processing new hire and resignation paperwork, reviewing applications and scheduling interviews for potential candidates, payroll transactions, acting as Benefits Coordinator for district office, timekeeping for district office.
Performs related work as required. This position is for the Bureau of Family Assistance. This position will complete HR and Clerical duties for the Greenbrier, Monroe and Pocahontas District.
- Transcribe meetings and prepare related documents.
- Operate word processing programs; screen and route correspondences as directed; perform routine filing and maintain records.
- Provide Human Resources support: process new hire and resignation paperwork, review applications, schedule interviews.
- Handle payroll transactions and act as Benefits Coordinator for the district office.
- Serve as timekeeper for the district office and perform other duties to assist the Community Service Manager.
- Training: Graduation from a standard high school or the equivalent.
- Experience: Five years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience performing clerical duties at the Office Assistant 3 level, encompassing a wide range of office practices, including typing, screening and routing telephone calls and correspondence, and composing routine correspondence.
- Substitution: College hours or related business school or vocational training may be substituted through an established formula for up to two years of the required experience.
