Nature of Work
The Mid-Ohio Valley Health Department is seeking a highly organized and proactive Administrative Services Assistant 2 to provide high-level administrative and supervisory support to the Executive Director and the agency's operations across a six county region. This pivotal role acts as a primary liaison to the Board of Health and involves significant human resources responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities- Executive Support & Liaison:
Provide comprehensive administrative relief to the Executive Director including managing calendars, scheduling appointments, and answering phones. Serve as the primary liaison and secretary to the Mid-Ohio Valley Board of Health, preparing agendas, reports, and ensuring a quorum is present at meetings. - Human Resources Coordination:
Assist the Human Resources Manager in performing diverse HR tasks such as creating job postings, setting up and participating in interviews, processing personnel transactions, maintaining personnel and I-9 files, and acting as a benefits coordinator for health and life insurance. - Supervision:
Oversee and supervise two maintenance positions and one part-time IT position, managing their work requests, schedules, and leave approvals. - Financial & Notary Duties:
Handle financial coordination for administrative accounts, including preparing purchase requisitions and check requests, and processing local funding requests with county commissions. Serve as the primary notary for all agency grants and legal paperwork. - Policy & Compliance:
Assist in developing and implementing agency policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations like HIPAA. - Other related duties as assigned.

- Training:
Graduation from an accredited college or university. Preference may be given to candidates with a major in the area of public or business administration, accounting, industrial relations, communications or related field. - Substitution:
Additional qualifying experience as described below may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required training. - Experience:
Two years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid employment in a technical or professional position providing administrative services such as accounting, budgeting, project monitoring and reporting, personnel, or procurement and property. - Substitution:
Successful completion of graduate study in an accredited college or university in one of the above fields may be substituted for the required experience on a year for year basis.
