GS-06 Qualifications and Responsibilities
Qualifications: To be eligible at the GS-6 level, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-5 level. Specialized experience is performing a wide range of routine administrative and technical support duties for an office such as:
- Providing technical assistance, sorting and retrieving data to produce documents and reports
- Preparing invoices and other fiscal items for payment
- Assisting preparing the budget and tracking expenditures
- Inputting data into electronic databases to track information
Qualifications: To be eligible at the GS-7 level, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-6 level. Specialized experience is performing a wide range of routine administrative and technical support duties for an office such as:
- Providing technical assistance and processing support on personnel actions and/or employee benefits
- Analyzing historical budget and financial data for budget preparation and tracking
- Preparing and reviewing invoices against contract schedules
Inputting data and maintaining electronic databases
To be qualified, you must type at least 40 words per minute based on a 5-minute sample with three or fewer errors. A typing test may later be required.
Career Transition Assistance Plans (ICTAP & CTAP)These plans provide eligible displaced Federal competitive service employees with selection priority over other candidates for competitive service vacancies.
