GS-06 Qualifications and Responsibilities

Qualifications: To be eligible at the GS-6 level, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-5 level. Specialized experience is performing a wide range of routine administrative and technical support duties for an office such as:

• Providing technical assistance, sorting and retrieving data to produce documents and reports
• Preparing invoices and other fiscal items for payment
• Assisting preparing the budget and tracking expenditures
• Inputting data into electronic databases to track information

Qualifications: To be eligible at the GS-7 level, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-6 level. Specialized experience is performing a wide range of routine administrative and technical support duties for an office such as:

• Providing technical assistance and processing support on personnel actions and/or employee benefits
• Analyzing historical budget and financial data for budget preparation and tracking
• Preparing and reviewing invoices against contract schedules
  
  Inputting data and maintaining electronic databases

To be qualified, you must type at least 40 words per minute based on a 5-minute sample with three or fewer errors. A typing test may later be required.

These plans provide eligible displaced Federal competitive service employees with selection priority over other candidates for competitive service vacancies. If you are eligible for ICTAP or CTAP consideration, you may receive selection priority if: (1) the vacancy is within your eligibility; (2) you apply under the instructions in the announcement; and (3) you are found well-qualified for the vacancy, meeting all qualification requirements and receiving a score of 85 or better on established ranking criteria.
