Overview
The Transmission Construction Representative is responsible for duties and assignments related to the construction of Transmission Lines or Transmission Station facilities. The role provides construction site management to ensure compliance with Federal, State, and Local Regulations, and Client Company standards, programs, drawings, and specifications.
Responsibilities- Coordinate contractor duties and assignments for the construction of Transmission Lines or Transmission Station Facilities.
- Review Client Company Plans, Drawings, and Specifications for constructability and report potential issues.
- Provide construction site coordination to ensure regulatory and company standard compliance.
- Generate standard and ad-hoc construction progress reports as requested by the client.
- Interface with Client databases and work with Drawings and Specifications; manage outages and safety/environmental requirements.
- Provide quality performance feedback on contractors, materials, and equipment.
- Perform Material Management duties related to transmission construction coordination, inspection, receipt, and delivery of materials and equipment to the site.
- Inspect materials for shortages, timeliness, damages, and correctness; prepare corrective action reports and coordinate material delivery to the job site.
- Coordinate required outages with the responsible Operation Center and manage Operating Orders from the Dispatching Authority as required.
- Maintain construction oversight for OSHA compliance under the company construction compliance program.
- Provide estimates to authorize station or line transmission construction work by contract forces, including verification of work performed.
- Collaborate with the Project Team to contribute to the successful completion of the project.
- Must have a valid driver's license.
- Must currently be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or construction management (construction supervision is a plus), or ABET-accredited associate degree in electrical or civil engineering technology with 2 years of transmission line or substation experience (construction supervision is a plus), or High school diploma/GED with 6+ years of transmission/substation construction experience (construction supervision is a plus).
- Computer literate: proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and related software.
- Willingness to work long hours in remote locations as required.
- Must pass screening processes (drug test, background check, driving record).
- First Aid/CPR Training is a plus.
- OSHA 30 Certification is a plus.
