Position Summary

The QC Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Inspector plays a vital role in ensuring that all electrical and instrumentation installations meet the highest quality standards and project specifications within the Oil & Gas and energy sectors. This position involves inspecting various E&I scopes, including Power Control and Earthing Cables Installation, LV/MV Switchgear Installation, Transformer Installation, Power Distribution Boards Installation, UPS Panel and Battery Installation, Earthing System Installation, Lighting System Installation, Motors Solo Run & Installation check and CP System Installation etc.

Responsibilities
  • Inspect and verify installations of 34kV power cables, 34kV switch gear, medium-voltage power cables, and medium-voltage switch gear terminations.
  • Perform inspections on low-voltage E&IC installations, ensuring compliance with industry standards, client specifications, and safety protocols.
  • Conduct electrical testing, including insulation resistance testing, continuity testing, and other standard procedures for power and instrumentation systems.
  • Ensure all work is performed in accordance with the latest construction drawings, project specifications, and company standards.
  • Review and maintain records of all inspections and testing, ensuring compliance with Quality Management System (QMS) protocols.
  • Monitor ongoing work activities, ensuring all necessary steps are taken to meet project timelines and quality requirements.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate inspection reports, test records, and punch lists.
  • Coordinate with project managers, electrical foremen, and other trades to ensure timely and quality completion of E&I scopes.
  • Communicate quality concerns to construction teams and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
  • Ensure all work complies with relevant codes, standards, and safety regulations such as NEC, NFPA, and OSHA requirements.
  • Ensure the promotion, awareness and compliance to in accordance with CAM Management System.
  • Effectively interprets contract quality requirements to establish inspection, testing and quality service activities for projects.
  • Ensure CAM Document Control Compliance is maintained throughout project in accordance with CAM Standards, Plans, Procedures.
  • Ensuring the promotion and awareness of Client referenced Quality Standards throughout the Project.
  • Communicate any non-conformance and defect that may impact safety assurance requirements for design, construction, commissioning, maintenance or operation.
  • Assist with the quality component of suppliers’ procurement processes. (Where required)
  • Monitor Surveillance Trends, NCRs, and other sources of deficiencies and subsequently investigate and initiate corrective & preventive actions with support of site Quality Manager.
  • Attend and input quality issues into weekly internal project meetings
  • Prepare weekly reports to Project Quality Manager.
  • Ensures the review and input into ITP’s, Construction Work Packs, to ensure correct quality criteria.
  • Ensures the surveillance planning and scheduling activities are developed and implemented
  • Ensure Lessons Learned capture throughout Projects related to E&I activities are documented.
Qualifications
  • Electrical License
  • Relevant Inspection and or Trade qualification e.g., Electrical & Instrumentation
  • 3+ years minimum experience in similar role;
  • 5+ years site-based experience in construction environment.
  • Knowledge of Codes such as NEC, IEEE, NETA, NFPA, etc.
  • Knowledge and use of computers and software
