Telecom Lead Field Construction Representative

We are looking for a highly skilled and knowledgeable Telecom Lead Field Construction Representative with advanced experience in aerial and buried fiber installation. The ideal candidate will possess excellent problem‑solving, communication, and leadership skills, making them an invaluable asset to our team and ensuring the smooth, compliant execution of key construction projects. This role requires a strong understanding of telecom construction standards and safety protocols, along with the ability to inspect, enforce compliance, and mentor team members.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and execute advanced aerial and buried fiber construction projects.
  • Enforce safety and quality control measures, ensuring all work adheres to engineering design drawings and applicable specifications and standards.
  • Upholds a strong construction safety culture and facilitates the execution of the client’s safety standards and practices.
  • Conduct professional inspections and maintain high standards of conduct in the field.
  • Conducts project oversight by attending on‑site construction kick‑off meetings to ensure proper coordination of project resources throughout all phases of project construction.
  • Supports FCRs with any questions or assistance they need in the field and resolves construction‑related issues during the project.
  • Provides project quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) oversight to ensure adherence to engineering and construction standards, specifications, and safety terms.
  • Builds and fosters strong relationships and partnerships between the client and our contractors.
  • Upon request, may review and provide feedback to the client for project‑related feasibility and constructability during scoping. May also participate in site visits for physical/engineering design and bid review and provide the client with contractor and vendor information related to project bids.
  • Establish and maintain professional relationships with engineers, consultants, subcontractors, stakeholders, and the public.
  • Provide training, guidance, and mentorship to junior team members on best practices and efficient work methods.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and client requirements.
  • Communicate effectively with internal teams, clients, and stakeholders, both verbally and in writing.
  • Utilize computer systems proficiently for documentation, reporting, and project tracking.
  • Operate independently with minimal supervision, demonstrating accountability and strong decision‑making skills.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
  • The employee may be required to stand; reach with hands and arms, stoop and kneel
  • The employee may be subject to rough terrain and inclement weather
  • The employee may be required to sit or stand for long periods of time
  • The employee may be required to lift, carry, push, pull or move up to 50 pounds
  • The employee may be required to travel
  • The employee is frequently exposed to outside weather conditions including wet and/or humid conditions
  • This position may require working more than 40 hours per week
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
  • Expert level understanding and experience in one or more of the following:
  • Advanced understanding and experience in one or more areas:
  • Telecommunication civil construction
  • Telecommunications aerial fiber and buried fiber.
  • Proficient in interpreting engineering documents for constructability.
  • Expert level understanding of Owner engineering and construction standards, specifications, and safety terms.
  • Thorough knowledge of engineering design and specifications of design packages.
  • Familiarity with OSHA Standard 1926, including Subpart V – Power Transmission and Distribution.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficient computer skills.
  • Ability to read, understand, and interpret construction and design documents.
  • Capable of training and mentoring others in correct methods and processes.
  • Able to perform responsibilities without supervision and may provide supervision to lower FCR levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to enforce safety and quality standards.
