Your work environment at EXPIn this role, you will be a part of the Infrastructure – Transportation business practice in the Mid Atlantic Sector, based in Charleston, WV. The candidate will work on various projects within the infrastructure team, including safety studies, multi‑modal roadway planning, highway design, design review, and construction oversight.
What a day at EXP has in store for you- Perform and lead engineering design tasks for infrastructure projects from conceptual design to final design.
- Develop plans, specifications, quantities, and cost estimates.
- Possess excellent in‑depth knowledge of roadway design software tools including Micro Station and Open Roads Designer.
- Mentor and develop new engineers in transportation and highway design.
- Lead and coordinate design activities between staff, subcontractors, and clients.
- Perform technical analyses and reviews of infrastructure projects.
- Support Project Managers to ensure projects meet the defined schedule, scope and budget, including development of Project Management Plans, Scopes of Work, Fee Estimates, and other related activities.
- Assist in preparing and developing proposals, presentations, reports, and studies.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Engineering required. Preferably in civil or transportation engineering.
- 8+ years of experience.
- Licensed PE in WV and VA.
- In‑depth knowledge of Micro Station and Open Roads Designer with a background in 3D modeling.
- Strong technical design background in highway design and transportation engineering.
- Experience with WVDOT standards and projects.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to direct and supervise staff engineers and technicians.
- Basic knowledge of MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
