Project Engineer (Civil / Water Resources)
Charleston, WV - JOB 26-00344 Salary Range: $65,000 - $120,000 Full-Time Permanent Position with Benefits
Seeking a motivated Civil Project Engineer to join a premier engineering firm in Charleston, WV area. This role focuses on the design and management of critical water resource infrastructure for both residential and commercial sectors. Candidate will lead projects from the initial conceptual design and environmental permitting through to final construction support.
Responsibilities:
- Technical Design:
Execute detailed site layouts, grading plans, drainage designs, and erosion/sediment control (E&S) systems. - Documentation:
Produce high-quality technical drawings and construction-ready plans for regulatory permitting. - Engineering Analysis:
Develop and implement data-driven engineering solutions for complex water resource challenges. - Project Lifecycle Management:
Oversee cost estimation, provide technical support during construction, and conduct plan reviews to ensure design compliance. - Regulatory Compliance:
Navigate and secure necessary Environmental Permits at the local and state levels. - Interdisciplinary
Collaboration:
Partner with senior engineers and field inspection teams to ensure projects are delivered on time and within scope.
Requirements:
- Education:
B.S. in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution (Required). - Certification: EI/EIT certification is preferred; candidates on the path to PE licensure are encouraged to apply.
- Experience:
0–4 years of practical experience in water, wastewater, or land development. - Software Proficiency:
Hands-on experience with AutoCAD and Civil 3D is highly advantageous. - Problem Solving:
Strong analytical mindset with the ability to work independently in a deadline-driven environment. - Logistics:
Must be able to perform periodic day travel to project sites within the region.
