We're working with a well‑established general contractor delivering large‑scale, mission‑critical data center projects across Northern Virginia. Due to continued growth and a strong project pipeline, we are looking to bring on an experienced MEP Manager to lead the delivery of complex mechanical, electrical, and plumbing scopes.
RoleThe MEP Manager will take ownership of all MEP packages from preconstruction through commissioning and turnover, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities- Lead all MEP coordination on data center construction projects from design through completion
- Manage mechanical, electrical, and plumbing subcontractors across all project phases
- Oversee installation, testing, and commissioning of systems including HVAC, electrical distribution, UPS, and fire protection
- Review drawings, submittals, and specifications to ensure compliance with design and project requirements
- Drive QA/QC processes and ensure systems are installed to the highest standard
- Monitor and manage MEP schedules, budgets, and procurement activities
- Identify and mitigate technical and schedule risks throughout the project lifecycle
- Act as the main point of contact for all MEP‑related matters with internal teams, clients, and consultants
- Lead coordination meetings and ensure alignment across all trades
- Ensure compliance with local codes, safety standards, and project specifications
- 7+ years of experience in MEP construction, ideally within data center or mission‑critical projects
- Experience working for a general contractor or leading MEP subcontractor
- Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems, including cooling and power distribution
- Proven track record managing large‑scale MEP packages
- Strong knowledge of commissioning, QA/QC, and systems integration
- Ability to manage subcontractors and drive performance on fast‑paced builds
- Degree in Construction Management, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering preferred
- Work on high‑profile data center projects in the most active market in the US
- Strong pipeline of secured work across Northern Virginia
- Clear progression into Senior MEP or Project Leadership roles
