Under general direction of the Engineer Chief, the successful candidate will perform professional engineering work at the administrative/management level in charge of a section of engineering professionals involved in regulating public electric and natural gas utilities. Duties will include but not be limited to the following: assign formal and informal work to staff members; monitor staff progress on assignments; approve final staff work products;
conduct performance reviews in accordance with state policies; monitor staff use of time; address other personnel and staff matters as required; may be responsible for own case load, including high profile cases, in addition to administrative and supervisory tasks; may prepare written testimony and testify in cases; confer with members of other state and federal agencies; provide policy recommendations to the Commission;
and perform other duties as may be required.

Minimum Qualifications
Training:
Current Professional Engineer (PE) license issued by the West Virginia State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers.
AND
Experience:
Eight (8) years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience as a licensed Professional Engineer in a responsible capacity in charge of engineering projects.
Note:
The experience must have been acquired after the bachelor's degree but may have occurred before or after registration as a professional engineer.
Other Information
PREFERENCE FOR THIS VACANCY: Preference may be given to applicants with
1) previous experience with electric or natural gas utilities, and
2) previous experience in management or supervisory positions.

Special salary range for the Public Service Commission:
The Public Service Commission has established a salary range of $92,990 to $133,594 for this classification.
