Job Overview
Stantec is seeking a mid‑level Project Engineer, Roadway to join our Mid‑Atlantic team. This position is advertised for the Charleston, WV or Bridgeport, WV offices.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and analyze engineering designs and specifications to ensure compliance with standards, codes, and regulations.
- Collaborate with project teams and communicate technical concepts effectively to achieve client expectations and project goals.
- Assist in planning, implementing, and completing projects, ensuring effective application of scope requirements, management of time, quality reviews, and effective communications with team members.
- Proficient use of Micro Station V8i, Open Roads.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD is a plus.
- Proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience and knowledge of AASHTO and WVDOH and/or VDOT design directives and specifications.
- Experience and knowledge of WVDOH and/or VDOT roadway and right‑of‑way deliverables.
- Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering or a related degree.
- Minimum of four (4) years of transportation design experience.
- West Virginia Professional Engineer (P.E.) registration or ability to obtain P.E. within one year required.

In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. Certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part‑time roles will be pro‑rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
