UDR is seeking qualified candidates for a Cloud Financial Operations Specialist opportunity in Charleston, West Virginia.
Description Core Responsibilities- Cost Optimization: Analyze daily usage and drive right-sizing or waste reduction.
- Budgeting & Forecasting: Build financial models and track budget variances.
- Governance & Tagging: Enforce resource naming and tagging standards for accurate cost allocation.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with engineering, finance, and leadership to build a culture of financial accountability.
- Showback/Chargeback: Manage cost-sharing models so business units see their exact cloud consumption. [1, 2, 3, 4]
- Cloud Fin Ops Specialist must have a minimum of three (3) years of experience in cloud cost management and optimization (AWS Cost Explorer, Azure Cost Management, or third-party tools like Cloud Health).
- Cloud Fin Ops Specialist must have a minimum of three (3) years of experience performing cloud usage analysis, Reserved Instance (RI) / Savings Plan management, and right-sizing recommendations.
- Cloud Fin Ops Specialist must have a minimum of two (2) years of experience creating financial dashboards and reporting for executive leadership.
- Cloud Fin Ops Specialist should have strong analytical skills to correlate cloud usage data with business value.
Skills and Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Computer Science, Accounting, or Business.
- Experience: 3 to 7+ years in IT financial management, financial analysis, or cloud operations.
- Technical
Skills:
Proficiency in AWS, Azure, or GCP pricing models, plus tools like Apptio Cloudability, Cloud Zero, or Power BI. - Certifications: Fin Ops Certified Practitioner preferred
