Overview
Minimum Special Hiring Rate: $40,702.00 Under general supervision, performs work at the full performance level in the implementation, evaluation, and technical assistance for Programs/Services characteristic of the Division of Corrections or the Regional Jail and Correctional Facility Authority. Performs the full range of specialized tasks related to the program area, including analysis and comprehension of Program/Services regulations, development and implementation of action plans to achieve desired results, coordination and collaboration with inter- and intra-agency personnel, writing program procedure manuals, and compilation of regular and special reports on program status.
Responsible for the signing and review of work to support staff or other specialists. Although regulations, methods and procedures in the program area are available, employees may exercise independent judgment.
Nature of Work
Under general supervision, performs work at the full performance level in the implementation and evaluation of and technical assistance for Programs/Services characteristic of Division of Corrections or the Regional Jail and Correctional Facility Authority. Performs the full range of specialized tasks relating to the program area to include analysis and comprehension of Program/Services regulations, development and implementation of action plans to achieve desired results, coordination and collaboration with inter- and intra-agency personnel, writing program procedure manuals, compilation of regular and special reports on program status and the signing and review of work to support staff or other specialists.
Specific duties include but are not limited to: complete all required testing/assessments for intake inmates within the established time frames; complete additional crime-specific assessments as appropriate; assist with inmate interviews designed to obtain background information and to identify strengths, risks, and needs; complete testing at Regional Jails as assigned by the Central Office Inmate Movement Coordinator; perform related work as required;
assist in security post as needed.

- In accordance with SPB 3088 effective 10/7/23, $5,000 will be added to the minimum starting rate of pay for all classifications within a Critical Vacancy Pay Supplemental Facility. Facilities listed:
Huttonsville Correctional Center and Jail;
Mount Olive Correctional Complex and Jail;
Western Regional Jail and Corrections Facility;
Northern Correctional Facility (including Ohio County Correctional Center);
Northern Regional Jail and Correctional Facility;
Chick Buckbee Juvenile Center;
Vicki Douglas Juvenile Center;
Potomac Highlands Regional Jail and Correctional Facility; and Eastern Regional Jail and Corrections Facility (including Martinsburg Correctional Center). - Employees in this classification shall receive an annual base building pay differential of $250 after completing one year of service.
- If an employee is hired into a Critical Vacancy Pay Facility (CVPF) and leaves the facility, the additional pay differential of $5,000 shall be removed from their salary unless transferring to another CVPF.
