Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an Interventional Radiology Technologist with ARRT and WV state license for a day shift position with on-call responsibilities.
Responsibilities- Work in an interventional vascular radiology suite at a level IV trauma center and major teaching hospital
- Perform peripheral angiography and venography with intervention, EVAR, TEVAR, carotid stenting, neuro-intervention including acute stroke and embolization
- Average daily census is 7-10 cases
- Uses Siemens fluoroscopy, ultrasound, and PACS; charting is done in Cerner
- Schedule is 4x10 hour day shifts, Monday to Friday, typically 7:30 AM - 6:00 PM
- On-call rotation includes approximately 8 days a month with 1 weekend per month and a 30-minute response time
- Float required to a sister facility 2 miles away for 1 week
- Responsibilities include accurate monitoring, equipment setup, maintaining sterile field, operating vascular closure systems (Perclose, Star Close), and ensuring inventory and supply maintenance
- Scrubs are provided in blue surgical sets issued by the hospital
- Free parking is available for travelers
- First-time travelers are accepted
- Must be able to provide two manager or charge references from the past two years
- Permanent employees must wait two years after last working day before returning as a traveler
- Flu vaccine required during flu season unless documented medical exemption
- 100 mile radius rule applies; candidates within 75-99 miles considered with approval
- Blocked schedule requests may be discussed during interview
- Current ARRT certification and active WV state license required prior to start; may submit with license pending
- BLS certification required
- At least 1 year of interventional radiology experience required
- Vascular Interventional Certification preferred
- Experience with PACS, Siemens fluoroscopy, ultrasound, and Cerner charting preferred
- Ability to perform EKG lead placement, access site prep, and recognize life-threatening arrhythmias
- Strong sterile technique and infection control skills
- License required if applicable
