Description
  • Providing on-site support to lab end-users ranging from Tier 1 - 2 type issues.
  • Continue to develop an understanding of the business processes and all applicable procedures.
  • Vendor support and account provisioning
  • In-depth knowledge of GxP operations relates to the FDA’s CFR 21 Part 11 requirements and well as Good Documentation Practices (GDP)
  • Install and configure Lab computer systems in a regulated GMP environment.
  • Work with vendor’s tech support teams to resolve Lab system application errors as needed.
  • Perform administrative tasks on systems such as user additions, removal, method/assay updates.
  • Participate in process re-engineering workshops with business and IT stakeholders.
  • Perform impact assessment on changing product capabilities.
  • Respond to IT support requests to address operational issues with enterprise and quality applications.
  • Meet with internal clients and stakeholders to diagnose software and middleware issues.
  • Align with other sites and corporate IT to ensure global consistency.
  • Review/develop SOPs related to administration and installation of applications used in the lab environments.
  • Command of IT ticketing system use and effective workload management.
  • Proactively monitors and identifies trends and behaviors in systems support and addresses the findings or escalates to other IT team resources.
  • Able to trace phone and network patch cables to wall jacks with the aid of network testing devices.
  • System imaging software experience and ability to learn new in-house methods.
  • Knowledge of simple AD account management and network connectivity requirements
Qualifications
  • Associates degree or equivalent in Biotechnology, Bioinformatics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Information Systems
  • Course experiences in Biotechnology Lab Specialist, Biotechnology Laboratory Technician, general Biotechnology courses
  • Good understanding of Windows Desktop OS support tasks (7 – Win 11) and ability to set up brand new systems.
  • Troubleshooting and replacement of PC hardware components
  • In depth knowledge of Microsoft O365 applications and other productivity applications such as Adobe Acrobat
  • Able to follow other specific troubleshooting steps and continuously update and create additional knowledge articles.
  • Contributing to timely and accurate communications with other parts of the organization regarding IT projects, timelines, and compliance
  • Familiar with life science and healthcare domain and strong articulation of requirements and technical writing of documentation
  • Knowledgeable in a clinical or lab space; and familiarity enabling technologies in lab specific software development lifecycle (such as validation, and formal testing procedures of Assays and Methods, LIMS, CDS, SDMS, HPLC, GC, Instrumentation
  • Engage and interact with business stakeholders to understand business requirements, business scenarios, support testing, and training activities
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, assertiveness and prioritization skills, and can work collaboratively with global project teams
Location(s)

New hires will be deployed to Cognizant office in Teaneck, NJ (and willing to relocate) where you will work alongside other experienced Cognizant associates delivering technology solutions. Applicants must be willing to relocate to these major geographic area.
