A skilled Registered Nurse with experience in Interventional Radiology is needed for a rewarding contract opportunity supporting adult and geriatric patients in a busy acute care hospital setting. This position offers a structured 4x10-hour day shift schedule with a competitive patient assignment ratio ensuring focused, quality care delivery. The role requires participation in an on-call rotation and benefits from supportive orientation and ongoing collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.

Location:
This position is based in Charleston, WV, a city known for its vibrant community and rich Appalachian culture. Residents enjoy a blend of urban conveniences with access to outdoor recreation in nearby mountains.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide expert nursing care in Interventional Radiology including procedures such as angiograms, fistulograms, EVAR, TAVR, and mechanical thrombectomy
  • Monitor and manage care for patients with complex diagnoses including CKD, CAD, PAD, stroke, and aneurysms
  • Collaborate closely with physicians, radiologists, and support staff to ensure safe and effective treatment
  • Maintain compliance with hospital protocols and standards including infection control
  • Participate in on-call weekend rotation approximately every fifth week
  • Support occasional float assignments to general lab areas
Qualifications:
  • Minimum 2 years RN experience with demonstrated Interventional Radiology skills
  • Active RN licensure with WV RDCS Adult license required before starting
  • BLS and ACLS certifications mandatory
  • Ability to handle a 1:1 patient ratio in a high-acuity environment
  • First-time travel nurses with IR experience welcome
  • Must be able to participate in orientation and work assigned shifts without blocked schedules
  • Flu vaccination required during flu season (with documented medical exceptions)
Schedule:
  • 4x10-hour shifts, weekday daytime hours (7:30 am - 4:00 pm)
  • On-call every 5th weekend
This contract role includes no-cost parking and uses Cerner electronic charting within a Level IV Trauma teaching hospital setting. Orientation combines classroom and unit-based experiences ensuring a smooth onboarding.
