Registered Nurse – Telemetry (Cardiovascular Med/Surg)

Charleston, WV

Contract | Days, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM | 3x12 or 4x12 hours (36 or 48 hours per week) | Every other weekend required | Onsite

• Provide direct patient care on a cardiovascular medical/surgical telemetry unit utilizing a team nursing approach (1 RN, 1 LPN, 1 Nursing Assistant per team of 7–8 patients)
• Monitor, interpret, and manage cardiac dysrhythmias via continuous telemetry
• Serve as a patient advocate, collaborating with interdisciplinary health team members to deliver quality nursing care
• Deliver patient and family education with an emphasis on cardiovascular disease management
• Float to other units within the facility as needed to meet staffing requirements
• Document patient care accurately using electronic health record systems

• Active WV RN license or valid Compact RN license (pending license accepted for submission)
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications through the American Heart Association (AHA)
• Demonstrated proficiency in telemetry monitoring, interpretation of dysrhythmias, and management of dysrhythmias
• Flu vaccine required during flu season (October 1 – March 31); medical exemption with documented allergist or physician record accepted
• Permanent address greater than 100 miles from the facility (75–100 miles considered on a case-by-case basis)

• Prior experience in a cardiovascular medical/surgical or telemetry setting
• Familiarity with Cerner electronic health record system
• Experience with SBAR communication methodology

• Work within a large acute care, Level IV Trauma Center and major teaching hospital environment offering a strong learning culture with opportunities for professional growth, certification, and career development
