Overview
Registered Nurse (RN) – Level I (Inpatient). Responsible for delivery of patient care through the nursing process, applying clinical knowledge and independent judgment to achieve quality outcomes. Work in an inpatient hospital setting with shift accountability for nursing care.
Responsibilities- Modify patient’s plan of care based on data collection and individual needs.
- Use evidence‑based practice (EBP) to provide patient care.
- Delegate appropriate tasks within scope of practice.
- Verify the plan of care with interprofessional colleagues, patients, and caregivers.
- Provide education tailored to learning needs and family involvement.
- Promote effective communication among interprofessional team members and healthcare consumers.
- Influence policy to promote safe patient care.
- Utilize appropriate resources for care, especially in sensitive situations.
- Incorporate processes to enhance organizational growth.
- Participate in strategies to promote healthy communities and practice environments.
- Recognize strategies to improve nursing quality.
- Provide critical review or evaluation of policies, procedures, and guidelines to improve health care quality.
- Demonstrate understanding of data collection and utilization.
- Disseminate educational findings, experiences, and ideas with peers.
- Engage in activities related to nurse-sensitive indicators to enhance quality of care.
- Participate in continuing professional development.
- Identify ethical situations and seek assistance from appropriate colleagues.
- Identify ways to maintain and improve the ethical environment conducive to safe, quality health care.
- Adhere to the moral and legal rights of patients.
- Engage in opportunities for work/life balance.
- Other duties may be assigned.
- Current Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which services will be provided or a multi‑state RN license through the eNLC.
- Obtain Basic Life Support certification within 30 days of hire date.
- One (1) year of registered nursing experience.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree.
- Minimize manual patient lifts; use equipment and patient‑handling aids for loads up to 35 pounds.
- Manual handling of materials and equipment weighing 40+ lbs; strength and stamina required.
- Visual acuity within normal range.
- Hearing within normal range necessary for physiological assessments.
- Protracted or irregular hours.
- Interaction with biohazards, infectious diseases, deceased patients, water, and electrical hazards associated with patient‑care equipment.
- Effective interpersonal communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution.
- Competent clinical practice and critical‑thinking skills for efficient patient care delivery.
- Flexibility in response to work‑volume and staffing changes.
- Capability to work under highly stressful conditions and adapt to varying workloads and assignments.
