Operating Room RN – Women and Children's (Pediatric) Hospital
Provide nursing care for pediatric patients (newborn to 17 years) in a 30-bed operating room unit. Perform both scrub and circulate roles in the operating room. Required to have at least 2 years of OR RN experience, plus travel experience (first-time travelers not accepted). Must have experience in pediatric and women’s specialty surgeries; robotic surgery experience is preferred. Work shifts are either 5x8s ) or 4x10s ), with self-scheduled call shifts (6-8 per month, including some nights and weekends).
Weekend and night call required; no guarantee of blocked scheduling — must be flexible to unit needs. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
Skills required:
pediatric general OR, general OR, circulating, scrubbing; IV start skills preferred. Must not reside within 75 miles of the facility (no locals). Must have or obtain a West Virginia RN license (pending license accepted for submission, active required to start). Not required to float to sister facilities. Guaranteed 40 hours per week; no strict restrictions on requested time off within reason.
Must be willing and able to comply with the hospital flu vaccination policy (COVID vaccine not required). Facility is a Level I Pediatric Trauma Center and Level IV NICU, and a major teaching hospital. Uses Cerner for charting; free on-site parking provided for travelers.
