Labor and Delivery RN Opportunity
The Labor and Delivery RN is responsible for providing specialized nursing care to women during childbirth and postpartum, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for mothers and babies. This role requires flexibility to float to Mother Baby as needed and to work nights and weekends.
Responsibilities:
- Administer direct patient care in labor and delivery, monitoring fetal and maternal health.
- Collaborate with midwives and physicians to develop and implement care plans.
- Perform circulating, scrub, triage, and IV start skills in obstetric settings.
- Respond to emergencies and facilitate neonatal resuscitation when necessary.
- Float to Mother Baby unit if not assigned to Labor Delivery, supporting postpartum care.
- Document all care activities accurately in Cerner and other documentation systems.
Qualifications:
- Active RN license in WV or a Compact State, with pending licenses accepted.
- Minimum of 2 years of RN experience in obstetrics, labor, and delivery.
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications through the American Heart Association.
- Proven circulating experience and skills with triage, scrub, and IV starts in OR settings.
- Ability to work flexible overnight hours, weekends, and float as required.
- Must submit professional references from managers or charge nurses within the past 2 years.
