Registered Nurse – Cardiac Cath Lab​/EP

Job Summary:

The Cardiac Cath Lab RN provides specialized nursing care for patients undergoing diagnostic and interventional procedures within the catheterization laboratory. This role requires expertise in both diagnostic and therapeutic cardiac procedures, ensuring patient safety and comfort throughout.

Responsibilities:

• Assess patient condition and history prior to procedures to ensure readiness.
• Administer medications and monitor patient response during diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures.
• Operate and assist with equipment used in the Cath Lab, ensuring proper functionality.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Document patient findings, procedures, and responses accurately in charting systems.
• Provide patient education regarding procedures, post-care instructions, and recovery expectations.

Qualifications:

• Possess a minimum of 2 years of RN experience, with at least 1 year specifically in Cath Lab or cardiovascular settings.
• Hold an active WV or Compact nursing license, with pending license acceptable for application.
• Be competent in all aspects of diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures, including structural interventions.
• Maintain current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications through the American Heart Association.
• Demonstrate strong assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills.
